Due to a chance of cold, wet weather Friday night, we are postponing the “NITE LITE CHARITY GOLF SCRAMBLE” until sometime in June.  We want to all the folks who were playing and who have sponsored holes.  We look forward to seeing you all in June.  We hope to have a great tournament, warmer weather and hopefully more players by moving to later in the year.

With the possibility of a half million dollar Tennessee Parks & Recreation grant, the City of South Fulton in partnership with the Twin Cities Restoration Foundation is submitting a grant application to the state. We need to strengthen our application as much as possible to be successful.  One way we can do that is to be able to demonstrate broad community support for a downtown park in South Fulton.  The proposed site is just south of West State line directly across from Pontotoc park.  This new park would add 4 acres of green space to the downtown area and provide much needed paved parking for both parks.  It would also add much needed space for the Banana Festival and other community events.  Proposed features of the new park would be a one acre town lake, 4 acre walking trail, children’s playground areas, a permanent band stand and amphitheater and paved parking.

So here is where we need your support and help.  Regardless of where you live, if you would support this new park for the Twin Cities and might use such a facility, we need you to send an email to the Chamber expressing your support.  Your emails will be included in our grant application.  This email could be quick and easy.  It could contain a sentence of support of a couple of paragraphs.

As our deadline is fast approaching, we need these emails by the end of business this Friday.  Please do not hit reply to this email.  We need you to compose and send a new email of support to the Twincitieschamber@bellsouth.net.  Once again Thea and the Chamber will provide a valuable service of collecting all these emails for us.

I hope we can count on the support of many of you to send this crucial email of support for the project vital to our efforts to continue to revitalize our downtown areas and make the Twin Cities a better place to live for ourselves and our future generations.

Regards,

Jeff Campbell

Chairman
